Minutes May 26, 2017 MINUTES OF THE OPEN SESSION OF THE RHODE ISLAND ETHICS COMMISSION PERSONNEL SUBCOMMITTEE May 26, 2017 The Rhode Island Ethics Commission, Personnel Subcommittee, held a meeting at 11:00 a.m. at the Rhode Island Ethics Commission Library room, located at 40 Fountain Street, 8th Floor, Providence, Rhode Island, on Friday, May 26, 2017, pursuant to the notice published at the Commission offices, the State House Library, and electronically with the Rhode Island Secretary of State. The following Commissioners, sitting as the Personnel Subcommittee, were present: Mark B. Heffner, Subcommittee Chair John D. Lynch, Jr.* J. Douglas Bennett Also present was Jason Gramitt, Staff Attorney. At 11:00 a.m., the Chair called the meeting to order. There were no members of the public present. Chair Heffner briefly described the role of the Personnel Subcommittee, as being tasked with reviewing and considering a personnel matter. He stated that the subcommittee would consider the personnel matter in executive session consistent with R.I. Gen. Laws § 42-46-5(a)(1) of the Open Meetings Act. Chair Heffner noted for the record that the person to be discussed in executive session had been so notified and advised of the right to have this discussion held in open session. *Commissioner Lynch arrived at 11:05 a.m. The next order of business was: Executive Session. At 11:10 a.m., upon motion made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Chair Heffner, it was unanimously VOTED: To go into executive session, to wit: 1. Discussion of a personnel matter pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws § 42-46-5(a)(1). At 12:45 p.m., the executive session concluded. There still being no members of the public present, and with no actions having been taken by the subcommittee in executive session to report out, by consensus the meeting was adjourned.
